In Celebrattion of Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day, I urge all of you to go outside and spend one or more minutes in silence, just looking up at the sky or clouds, and absorbing what the atmosphere is doing. Note the direction the wind is blowing, what sounds it is making, and the flight patterns of any birds or insects through the air. Note the type and movement of any clouds, then picture how the air movement over your location is embedded in the large (synoptic) scale motions of the air (is the air moving around a high or low pressure system over you?). Feel your connection to this beautiful and awesomely powerful part of nature. The atmosphere is a truly wondrous creation!
